Policies

At Cedar & Spruce Wellness, I am committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic. Every person deserves to feel respected, valued, and safe here.

Clear boundaries support excellent bodywork. They protect my capacity to show up fully for you. They also ensure that this remains a professional, ethical, and restorative space for everyone who walks through the door. These policies are how I maintain the integrity of this work.

CONTACTING ME
As a solo practitioner, I am often in session and unable to return calls or messages immediately. The best way to schedule an appointment is through my
online booking system, which gives you full access to my availability 24/7.

If you do reach out by text or phone, please respect standard business hours. Late night or early morning contact is inappropriate, and will not receive a response. My personal time is as valuable and essential to my wellbeing as yours is to you.

BOOKING & PAYMENT
All new clients must book
online to complete required health intake forms.

  • Same-day appointments are not available.

  • A credit card is required at booking to confirm your session.

  • Payment at the time of booking is optional, but appreciated.

  • Accepted payment methods are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

PACKAGES & GIFT CERTIFICATES
Packages are no longer available for purchase, beginning January 1, 2026. Gift Certificates can be purchased on the
appointments page.

  • Packages are non-refundable but may be shared with family members. They expire one year from date of purchase; unused sessions will be forfeited.

  • Gift certificates are non-refundable but can be transferred. They do not expire.

  • For best results, I recommend receiving bodywork every 2-4 weeks, although scheduling is entirely flexible.

LATE ARRIVALS & SESSION INTEGRITY
Sessions begin and end on time. This protects the quality of your experience and ensures everyone receives the full benefit of their appointment. If you arrive late, your session still ends at the scheduled time, and the full session fee applies. If you are more than 15 minutes late without contacting me, your appointment will be considered a no-show. Your credit card on file will be charged the full session fee.

CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS
If you need to cancel or reschedule, I require 24 hours’ notice. Text me directly at
860.204.7707 as soon as possible. (Do not reply to automated appointment reminders, as I will not receive those messages.)

Less than 24 hours’ notice and no-shows are charged the full session fee. This protects my income and my ability to hold time for clients who honor their commitments. If you’re a repeat no-show or chronic canceller, I will require prepayment for future appointments, or may refuse to work with you altogether.

ILLNESS & CONTAGION
If you are feeling unwell, especially with cold or flu symptoms, you must cancel your appointment. Your health and mine both matter.

I normally require 24 hours’ notice, but I will waive the cancellation fee if you wake up sick the morning of your appointment. I would rather lose one session than risk spreading illness and potentially missing multiple days of work.

Massage therapy is contraindicated when you’re actively sick. It increases circulation and can worsen symptoms or spread infection. Rest, take care of yourself, and rebook when you’re feeling better. Let’s keep this space safe and healthy for everyone.

HYGIENE & PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
I maintain strict protocols before, during, and after every session:

  • The massage table and table warmer are covered with a protective vinyl barrier and sanitized with medical-grade disinfectant (CaviWipes) between clients.

  • All linens are freshly laundered in hot water and dried at high heat.

  • Frequently touched surfaces, such as doorknobs, are disinfected regularly.

For your comfort and the cleanliness of this space, please arrive freshly showered and in clean clothing. If you need to wash up upon arrival, the restroom is always available.

SERVICE REFUSAL & TERMINATION
I provide therapeutic massage and bodywork with the goal of improving your health and wellness. I reserve the right to refuse or terminate a session at any time if my profession or my person is disrespected or violated.

This includes (but is not limited to): sexual advances or comments, intoxication or impairment, contagious illness or poor hygiene, chronic tardiness or cancellations, or any behavior that compromises the professional integrity of this space.

If this happens, the full session fee applies, and I will not rebook future appointments.

BRUNO IS HERE
I share my office (and my heart) with my dog, Bruno. He will warmly greet you when you arrive, and nap peacefully in the treatment room during your session. His job is to help you relax and let go of stress. If you have allergies or prefer a pet-free environment, I completely understand that my office may not be the right fit for you.

ABOUT TIPPING
While I deeply appreciate your generosity, tipping is not necessary. I view massage therapy as an essential part of your healthcare, and I align my practice with other healthcare professionals (chiropractors, acupuncturists, etc.) who do not accept gratuities. If you want to show appreciation, channel that energy into more frequent sessions for yourself. Regular care benefits us both.
